DIRECTOR & PRODUCER

Sybil Patten is a documentary filmmaker and educator.   In 2017 she went back to school at The Berkeley School of Journalism to study with documentary filmmakers such as: Andrés Cediel, Cassandra Herman, Carrie Lozano and Dawn Porter. She is currently teaching English as a New Language and filmmaking at The High School for Innovation in Advertising and Media in Canarsie, New York.

Patten’s films examine social structures from the intimacy of tangled familial relationships to the politically fraught, and underfunded social support systems in this country.  

STORY EDITOR, VIDEO EDITOR & COLORIST

Zsuzsanna Gellér-Varga is a documentary filmmaker, producer and visual storyteller based in the NYC metro area. Originally from Hungary, she has worked in documentary film and television journalism for 20+ years as a director, producer, commissioning editor, video journalist, editor and colorist. She previously worked for Voice of America’s 52 Documentary series and for The New York Times Television, and has also taught documentary ethics and storytelling at international programs and workshops. She holds degrees from UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and the University of Theatre and Film Arts (Budapest), where her doctoral research focused on documentary storytelling.

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY & FIELD PRODUCER

Originally from New Haven County, Connecticut, Scott Sell is a producer, editor, and writer operating out of the great state of Maine. A graduate of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, Scott has worked as a reporter, a creative writing and multimedia instructor, and a producer for Education Week, Island Institute, Compass Light Productions, Points North Institute, and Altimeter Design Group. And together with his wife, the artist Alexis Iammarino, he runs Little Legs Projects, a creative company focused on murals, art education, and documentary storytelling.

SOUND DESIGNER & RE-RECORDING MIXER

Jacquelyn Chin is a Cantonese-American sound editor/designer and producer. She's a New York City native and a proud member of IATSE MPEG Local 700. Some of her credits include: Lynn Novick's "Crime and Punishment in America" (2026), Ken Burns’ “The American Revolution” (2025), "Maintenance Artist" (2025), and season 14 of “Blue Bloods” (2024).
